PRETZELS MIX IN A JAR RECIPE:
Place a circle of patterned fabric (9" diameter will do it) under the ring
of the lid, or over top the lid secured by a rubber band. Put a ribbon and bow
of raffia or fabric around the ring of the lid overtop the rubber band. A hot
glue gun will be handy to add other decor.

3 1/3 cups whole wheat bread flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 package active dry yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon dried minced onion
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Stir together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a bowl. Stir together
oregano, basil, garlic powder, onion and cheese in another bowl. Divide
ingredients among 2 16 oz beer bottles or jars layering if bottles are clear.

Preheat oven to 400F.
Place soft pretzel recipe jar contents in a medium mixing bowl. Stir in half of
a 12-ounce can or bottle of beer (3/4 cups). Knead on lightly floured surface
till smooth. Cover and let rest in warm place till doubled (about 45 minutes).
Roll out pretzel recipe dough on a lightly floured surface into a 10x6 inch
rectangle, and cut length-wise into six 1 inch wide strips.
Place soft pretzel recipe pieces on a greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise
in a warm place till nearly double in size (about 30 minutes). Bake pretzels on
the top rack of a 400F oven about 8 minutes till lightly golden.
Transfer to a wire rack to cool. Recipe makes 6 Soft Pretzels.
