Place a circle of patterned fabric (9" diameter will do it) under the ring of the lid, or over top the lid secured by a rubber band. Put a ribbon and bow of raffia or fabric around the ring of the lid overtop the rubber band. A hot glue gun will be handy to add other decor.

1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 cup chocolate chips
1 1/3 cups flour mixed w/1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp baking soda, 1/4 tsp salt

Layer ingredients in order given in a 1-quart wide-mouth canning jar. Press each layer firmly in place before adding the next ingredient.

Preheat oven to 375F.

Pour mix into a large bowl, break all cookie mix up by hand and evenly, add and mix in other ingredients until completely blended. You will need to finish mixing with your hands. Shape cookie dough into balls the size of walnuts. Place cookies 2 inches apart on sprayed baking sheets.

Bake at 350 F for 11 to 13 minutes, until cookie edges are lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet.
