Applesauce Brownies
Recipe
1/3 c Vegetable oil
1/2 c Unsweetened applesauce
1/2 c Unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 c Sugar
1 c All-purpose flour
1 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Baking soda
2 lg Eggs
1 ts Vanilla extract
1/4 c Chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 375 F. Combine oil, applesauce and cocoa. Add sugar and stir
until dissolved. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients together and stir
into the mixture. Pour the batter into a greased and floured (or wax paper
lined & sprayed) 9 inch square pan. Sprinkle on nuts.
Bake about 20 to 30 minutes or until top is set but edges are not dried out.
Toothpick will come out clean.
Applesauce Walnut Cake Recipe
1 pk Butter recipe golden cake - mix
1/2 c Butter or margarine; soften
1 1/3 c Apple sauce
3 Eggs
1 ts Cinnamon
2 1/2 oz Black walnuts; chopped
Preheat oven to 375F. Grease and flour 2, 9 x 1 1/2" round cake pans.
Put dry cake mix, butter, applesauce, eggs and cinnamon into large mixer bowl.
Beat for 4 minutes at medium speed. Stir in black walnuts. Turn batter into
pans and spread evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Frost with a Mocha Frosting.
Easy Apple Sauce Cake Recipe
1 3/4 c Cake Flour; sifted
1 ts Baking Powder
1/4 ts Soda
1/2 ts Salt
1 ts Cinnamon
1/2 ts Cloves
1/2 c Butter; or shortening
1 c Sugar
1 Egg; well beaten
1 c Raisins; fine cut
1 c Nut meats; chopped
3/4 c Apple sauce; strained/hot
Preheat oven to 350F. Sift flour once, measure, add baking powder, soda,
salt, and spices, and sift together three times. Cream butter thoroughly, add
sugar gradually, and cream together until light and fluffy. Add egg, raisins,
and nuts and beat well. Add flour mixture, alternately with apple sauce, a
small amount at a time, beating after each addition until smooth. Bake in
greased loaf pan, 9-1/2 x 5-1/2x 3 inches, in moderate oven 350F for 1 hour, or
until done.
